Visus Dictionary
Mention rate
Mention rate is the percentage of sampled AI answers, for your frozen question set, in which your brand is named.
Why it matters
Being mentioned is often the first step before a click or a citation. Zero mention with competitors named means you are invisible in that topic area.
How Visus measures it
On Visus Pro monthly citation checks, up to five queries per provider batch are scored yes/no for brand mention, then rolled up per run.
Example
If 2 of 5 sampled answers name “Acme Dental,” mention rate is 40% for that check.
Common misconception
Mention rate is not search volume or Share of Voice in Google; it is a small, sampled answer set you configure.

FAQ
- Is 0% mention rate always bad?
It means assistants answered in your topic but skipped your brand in that sample. Pair it with competitor names and fixes—not panic alone.
